We're a versatile bunch.
At present (as of July 2018) we have two completely different shows. This page deals mainly with the first of these ...
There's our "normal" Hamoaze Band conccert(s) in which we do pretty much what you'd expect of a folk(ish) band - we play up to two sets of material, each approx 50-60 minutes in duration.
Then there's our brand new theatrical show based on the great tradition of the murder ballad through musical history. For lots of information on this show - please click on the "Plump Dead Thighs & Pretty Blue Eyes" page on the menu to the left. This show is pretty much fixed in its content and duration. It's performed in two acts, the first being a sliver under an hour and the second being approximately 45-50 minutes. There are a few minimum technical requirements for us to be able to perform "Plump Dead Thighs...", nothing particularly onerous, but it is a wee bit more complicated than us just rolling up, setting up the PA/lights and playing.
Our "normal" show is something we try to tailor to the needs/requirements of the organiser/promoter. If the requirement is lots of singalongs, then that's what we'll aim to provide; if you'd prefer a set of gentler background folk, we can accommodate! That said - it will consist of around 50% original material, some of which can be heard on the "listen" page of this site. The remainder of the material will be traditional with occasion forays into covers of well known pop/rock songs performed in the folk(ish) style of
The Hamoaze Band.
